If you miss the Windows 7 start menu, quick access to recently opened files, pinned programs, and you are just not ready to give up the classic start menu and search feature then Classic Shell is the program you have been looking for. And it’s FREE! That said, if you like the program you should donate to show your support for this type of software community.

I typically install Classic Shell for the start menu but there is an option when you install to include enhancements for Windows Explorer and Internet Explorer. If you only want the classic start menu then you can deselect the other options before the installation begins.
